Defining Budget Settings

The Budget Settings table provides the option of either calculating your company’s yearly budget as a whole OR by individual locations.

When determining your location budgets, you can either choose to enter your company’s budget as one sum (without taking locations into account) OR the sum of each location’s budget. By entering one budget you can view the overall corporate budget, even when you don’t have all of the locations budgeted for individually.

If you choose to calculate the company budget from individual locations, agrē prevents the editing of overall company budget figures from the Manage Budgets window.

If you don’t have a multiple location business, the option to calculate the company budget based on locations is not available to you.

To define how to calculate the company's budget for each fiscal year

Navigate to General Ledger > Manage > GL Administration.
The Manage GL Administration window opens.

In the Budget Settings table, check the Calculate Company Budget From Location Budgets? check box for each year that you want to use location budgets.

If you don’t want to use location budgets, leave the Calculate Company Budget From Location Budgets? check boxes clear.
The budget setting cannot be changed for fiscal years if the fiscal year end date has already passed (i.e., is earlier than the current date).
