When you add a manufacturer, the default setting is active, but you can also activate a manufacturer that has been deactivated.
When a manufacturer is deactivated, it is still associated with the products that are assigned to it, but you cannot use the manufacturer for new products.
To deactivate a manufacturer:
Navigate
to Inventory > Manage
> Manufacturers.
The Manage Manufacturers window opens.
In the Active column, clear the Active check box of the manufacturer you want to deactivate.
Click Save.
To activate a manufacturer:
Navigate
to Inventory > Manage
> Manufacturers.
The Manage Manufacturers window opens.
In the Active column, select the Active check box of the manufacturer you want to activate.
Click Save.
