Instead of making payroll journal entries, you can import payroll postings from Paymate. Use the Import Payroll Postings window to import payroll postings. When you import, a journal entry is created for you.

To import a payroll posting from Paymate

On the General Ledger menu, click Import Payroll Postings.
The Import Payroll Postings window opens.
In the File Type box, enter the type of Paymate file type you want to import (e.g., Paymate standard cheques).
The file type must match the file you import.
(config U) Click Browse Files.
The Choose A Paymate File To Import window opens.
In the File list, select the file to import and then click Open.
From the list, select the payroll you want to import.
Caution
The Paymate export must be a text file (the file name ends with .txt).
agrē is able to import only text files. If the name does not end in .txt the file will not appear in the import list.
In the Posting Date* box, optionally change the posting date of the posting.
Posting dates must be either current or past dates; future dates are not permitted.
In the Description* box, enter a unique description for the posting.
In the Location box, enter the location that owns the posting.
Click Import. A confirmation message appears if the import is successful.
If the import is not successful, an error message appears and you must fix the error before trying again.
Click OK.
