Use the Manage Products window to deactivate and activate products. When you add a product, the default setting is active, but you can also activate a product that has been deactivated. When a product is deactivated, you can still reference the product in the database, but you cannot use the product in agrē .
You cannot deactivate a product in the following cases:
product is in use
product has an on hand balance, is on order (purchase order), or committed (work order)
product is on a bill & hold invoice and has not yet been loaded out
product is a default for a blend type element
product is a blend type charge, blend type filler, or blend bin product
product is an associated product, a raw product for manufacturing, or a fuel product
product has active Lot Numbers (Lot#) with a non-zero balance
product has estimated cost rows
product has estimated unit costs
If you cannot deactivate a product, a message appears indicating what is required in order for the product to be deactivated.
To deactivate or activate a product
On the Inventory menu, point to Manage and then click Products.
The Product Search window is available.
Find the product using the various search criteria.
The search results are shown in the Manage Products window.
Tip
If you are searching for a deactivated product, select No or Either in the Active? box. Only Active products are selected by default when you search for products.
In the Product list, select the product to deactivate and then click Deactivate (or Activate as applicable).
Click Yes to confirm.
If the product cannot be deactivated, the reason(s) will be display so they can be corrected.
Select OK to acknowledge.
