Product Programs

When you add products, you can optionally specify one or more product programs for them. Products of a similar type can be assigned to a product program in order to create product deals for customers. For example, customers may receive sale prices or rebates if they purchase all products in a product program. .

Use the Manage Product Programs window to add, edit, activate or deactivate, and remove product programs.

Add or Edit all programs before clicking Save since saving also closes the window.

Adding Product Programs

You can add product programs in order to create product deals for customers.

To add a product program

Navigate to Inventory > Manage > Product Programs.
The Manage Product Programs window opens.

In the Description column, enter a unique description for the product program (e.g., farm care).

Ensure the Active check box is selected.
Active is selected by default after the description has been entered.

Click Save.

Editing Product Programs

You can edit any of your existing product programs at any time by changing their descriptions. You can also change the active status.

To edit a product program

Navigate to Inventory > Manage > Product Programs.
The Manage Product Programs window opens.

In the Description column, change the description of the product program.

Click Save.

Deactivating and Activating Product Programs

When you add a product program, the default setting is active, but you can also activate a product program that has been deactivated.

When a product program is deactivated, you can no longer use it in the database. When a product program is reactivated, it is automatically associated with anything that it was associated with previous to being deactivated.

To deactivate a product program

Navigate to Inventory > Manage > Product Programs.
The Manage Product Programs window opens.

In the Active column, clear or set the Active check box for a program as applicable.

Click Save.

Removing Product Programs

Removing product programs deletes them from the database. You cannot remove product programs that are in use.

To remove a product program

Navigate to Inventory > Manage > Product Programs.
The Manage Product Programs window opens.

In the Description column, select the product program to remove.

Click Remove Program.

Note

If the Remove Program button is not available, the program you selected is in use and cannot be removed. You could deactivate it instead.

Click Yes to confirm the removal.
The product program is removed.

Click Save.
