Discounts can affect the Net Price of a commodity based on grading factors or grade.
Grading Factors and Grading Factor Discounts are associated to each commodity.
A Grading Factor can have multiple Discount Schedules.
Grading Factor Discounts can be setup from the Commodities window or from the Grading Factors window.
What you'll find:
To add new grading factor discounts
* indicates a required field (other fields are optional)
Navigate to Grain > Manage > Commodities. The Manage Commodities window opens.

Navigate to Grain > Manage > Grading Factors. The Manage Grading Factors window opens.
Select a Commodity (from the Manage Commodities window)

select a Grading Factor (from the Manage Grading Factors window)
then click Grading Factor Discounts. The Manage Discounts window opens.
Select a Grading Factor (if you started from Commodities)
- or -
select a Commodity (if you started from Grading Factors)
then click Retrieve.
Select Add.
The Add Discount Schedule window opens.
Type a Schedule Name.
Check the Default Schedule box if this is the one you'll use most of the time for this grading factor and commodity
(flagging as default sorts it to the top in dropdowns, but you can choose any of the schedules on the fly)
For Units = Percent (%) and Pounds per Bushel (lbs/bus) only:
Add rows for Min, Max, Increment, and Rate as required (up to 2 decimal places).
To delete a row, select it, then click Remove Discount
Select Start Over to discard all changes.
Example - Green Canola Seeds:
Discount Row 1: 0 – 2 % Green -> $0.00 (no discount)
Discount Row 2: 2 – 6 % Green -> ($0.10) for every additional 0.1% green
For Grades (Grade Units) only:
Add rows for Grade and Rate .
Negative rates are discounts. Positive rates are premiums.
To delete a row, select it, then click Remove Discount
Select Start Over to discard all changes.
Click Save to save the discount schedule.
The Add Discount Schedule window closes.
Click Save to save the discounts.
The Manage Grading Factors window closes.
You can Edit any of your existing grading factor discounts at any time.
Changes to discount schedules affect new transactions going forward, but do not change existing transactions.
An inactive grading factor discount schedule cannot be selected on new transactions, but does not change exisiting transactions.
A deactivated one can be activated any time.
Removing a grading factor discount deletes it from the database. A grading factor discount can be removed only if it has not been associated with any grain activity.
